Flowers are one of the greatest sources of inspiration. Many Healers and Metaphysicians know about the energy contained within flowers and have used the fragrances, imagery, color, herbal qualities and symbology as tools for Divination for thousands of years.
All flowers, even dried ones, are sources of strong energy vibrations (Except for decaying flowers, which should be removed from indoor areas promptly because they draw on the energies around them to help with the breakdown process and can make the vibe feel draining- they do not need to be removed in outdoor spaces, because there is enough energy around them to draw from naturally). This is why people often take a bunch of flowers to events or into rooms that hold a lot of meaning or spiritual activity and significance. Flowers raise the vibrations in the area they are placed, and they help people connect with other realms and dimensions – like gateways . Flower essences and Elixirs are powerful medicinal tools that can be used for healing the physical body, psychological conditions, as well as the spirit.
Flowers are some of the most important messengers in Nature. We all have had contact with flower medicine in some way whether we recognized it or not. As we awaken our consciousness we will begin to appreciate the power of flowers more and more. As we encounter flowers in our daily life we can learn to understand the messages they have for us. There are a number of ways we can use flowers to benefit from their medicine, and there are also ways we can look at them as spirit guides or messengers. When we are out in Nature, our energy, our aura, will resonate with the plants, trees, flowers, and animals around us that have messages for us. Remember “Like attracts like.” Keep your mind and heart open to be guided.
Go outside for a walk…
Allow the center of your mind to open up to your inner intuitive guidance as you walk and observe your surroundings. Look around at the various plants in your yard, neighborhood, local, park, or wherever you decide to walk, and see where your heart leads you. You will be drawn to flowers. When you feel drawn to a particular flower, approach it with respect and an open mind and heart. Speak to the flower from your center as you greet it.
How does the flower smell to you? Does it have a fragrance? Fragrances affect us psychologically and may attract us or be repelling. The scent of a flower may make us feel relaxed and healed in some ways immediately, or possibly disrupt us in an unpleasant way. Take note of what the fragrance’s effect has on you…
Think about these Questions:
What color is it? As we know, color affects us physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We are all affected by color and being aware of how colors affect us is one of the most important aspects of learning to understand Signs and Messages in Nature. We will be drawn to those colors that we need, or that have a message for us. Take note of the color and how it makes you feel.
How many petals does it have? Numerology is yet another very powerful realm of study for anyone wanting to learn more about Signs and Messages in Nature. Once you begin to unlock the patterns associated with numbers it will become second nature for you. Numbers carry vibrations and are symbolic in general. Take note of the number of petals the flower has.

Numbers with more than 1 digit also have their own significance as well, especially the master numbers: 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99. Example: 22 is 2+2= 4, (22 = 4)
What shape does the flower have? Some flowers will be soft and spread open, others will be tiny and pointy. What does the geometric shape of the flower look like? Is it open wide and facing the sun like a bowl, or droopy and hanging upside down? Does is look like something else, like a heart or a star? Take note of what the shape of the flower looks like to you.
What known insects or animals are associated with the flower? Some species of animals and insects are dependent on certain plants, trees, or fruit, etc. (For example: Monarch butterflies are dependent on Milkweed.) Sometimes animals and insects will cause destruction to the plant or tree, other times they will have a symbiotic relationship (meaning long-term usually, and interdependent). All of these factors are important for getting deeper into your awareness about your Spirit Guides, and Messages that are hidden within Nature for you. Take note of what animals or insects are near the flower at the time, or that you know of or researched about.
Other aspects to think about:
Where does the flower originate from? (There may be a message about the place it is from, possibly even indicating a past life connection. (For Example: Dahlias are native to Mexico, South America, and Columbia.)
